I will take this to a ups pack and ship or if you want can at extra cost. A very easy job to set it back original if that is what you want. Same model as used on the 1947 Norwegian kon-tiki expedition with Thor Heyerdahl to show that man could have crossed from south America Polynesia Humboldt current. Very nice National NC-173 with matching NC-183TS speaker blemish free and working.
On kon-tiki the radio went into drink and had to be dried out as quickly possible hoping it would work eventually rescue them certainly did job. Back to this rig now.
Other bands may not come in as well and need extra part replacements. A very classic set in nice shape still working with only some help needed. Rider manual shows how to connect the NC-173 batteries. I powered it up and replaced one resistor two capacitors along with a cut off power cord.
Aux on front plate has been replaced with a switch and the jack moved to back. They were already complaining about garbage in the ocean back then. I then listened to 170 kw Helsinki Greece music program on 9420 khz for over an hour.
